Last night after the trip to hell I came down with a horrible cold.I am currently preparing for Tacoma's half marathon and I usually do my long run on tuesday. I am currently at the ten mile mark, but do to a cold I will have to skip it. I wonder if this will impede my race at all, I guess injuring something would be worse. If their are any other runners here, do you run with a cold, I mean ling distances?

|I run, am prepping for the TCM half myself, and no, I don't run with a cold--if it's in my chest. Sniffles? I bring a handkerchief, cotton, in my pocket. Or snot-rocket, as un-glam as it is. But if it's in my chest, running--esp distances--is gonna make me worse, in my experience. I guess, the way I figure, if my cardio threshold is at a certain spot, then, yeah, I can do a 'half, once. Past that? Need to train more.
Then again, in my three sprint triathlons, two Sound to Narrows', and 2 10Ks, I've historically undertrained, so I guess I figure, meh?

|I did the seattle half and it was great. Anyway though I will be skipping the long run tomorrow because the thought of nine miles and then thirtieth hill at the end is just to much maybe later in the week. I am an overtrainer anyway so i'm sure I will be fine|
