Chris, the discussion threads show wide enthusiasm for Obama's election. But this was one of the few mentions of Gregoire's.
Gregoire's legacy so far is an expansion in state spending by 1/3 over the course of just 4 years. Where does that leave us today? How about a deficit looming next year to the tune of $3-4 Billion? Here's an interesting quote from a speech Gregoire gave yesterday "Government is really going to have to get back to the absolute, essential basics." I guess that would mean a reversal of all the giveaways and entitlements she authorized during her first term.
I would certainly agree with you that Gregoires election could be compared to something warm, sticky and gooey. It just wouldn't be icing.
