I came home from a practicum interview today to find the kitchen a mess and my husband and daughter looking sheepish. It appears they did it again, it? you ask. The two of them decide to bake something and they forgo directions and inevitably a huge disaster is born. Last month they thought custard looked easy, it wasn't. A couple weeks ago, they thought it was a great idea to roast marshmallows over the stove, my burners still smoke every time I use the stove. Today shortbread tickled their fancy, but reading the directions did not. There was flour everywhere, my daughters hair, the wall, our dog. Did the shortbread turn out you ask, no.
