While our snotty cousins up north had to beg to have their streets plowed, ours were just fine. While the whiners up north are inundated with trash, ours was picked up on time. When we want a bridge, we build one. Why is Seattle always hailed as this great city, when they can't get a thing done and their infrastructure is crap. Tacoma proved itself as a great city this past couple of weeks.

|Chris@ An interesting issue. Between Seattle and Tacoma: which one has a more effective government in place?
I think Tacoma did a better job clearing snow off the roadways and keeping the trash picked up, but I believe Seattle has a more challenging topography so it's hard to say. The underlying condition of our streets is so deplorable it would be hard to take much pride in the effort.
If cities were rated on which ones dole out the most cash for municipal labor unions, employee benefit programs and councilmember's pet projects, while ignoring basic responsibilities, Tacoma would certainly give Seattle a run for it's money.
