Our "Take Back the Park" initiative grows exponentially every week because of the efforts of a motley cru of local artist fighting it out, urban style, in downtown Frost Park every Friday. Our weapons? Chalk, Concrete, Creativity. Our Armor? Thick Skin and Calloused Hands. It's Avante Garde, its bloody sometimes, but most of all, it brings life back to the darkened corners of our beloved city.
We are here to show this city some much needed love, and I am here to show others "WHY".
With that, I propose a call to all Tacoma local businesses who would like to be synonymous with such community endeavors to donate your t-shirt to me. And I don't mean, 'give me the shirt off your back', but donate a shirt you had designed with your business, special interest group, etc. name on it. Here is a list of unsolicited groups represented by me in tshirt at past Chalk-Offs: Femme Fianas of The Dockyard Derby Dames, Doyles Public House, R&E Cycle (well that's Seattle), and The Grande Cinema.
As a weekly partcipant, it will be worn by me during the Chalk-Off Competitions. It will also get dirty, as I tend to really "get into" the medium. You don't have one? Well, let one of us design one for you.
We're just starting to pique the interest of local media, bloggers, and other such opinion leaders. We were featured in the TNT this past weekend and in City Arts, as well as in a slew of Tacoma blogs. This is the time to get in on the action on the ground floor.
Interested individuals, please email me at:
The weekly Chalk-Offs is the brainchild of local artist, satarist, sadist R.R. Anderson www.holisticforgeworks.com, and it is lead by our very own Tacoma Urbanist, Erik. Both of them are members of this blog. You can find pictures, artist bios, links, and anything related to the Chalk-Off events on the Tacoma Urbanist blog.
Thank you for your support.

Very cool. See you Friday. I am waiting for your first one.
