I blame the moon?
(feeling kinda fun-kay.)
The last two days have been a weird state of... ??? I dunno. I guess I'm like the lunar situaltion, full-moonish and post-eclipsed.
I don't feel very motivated, and yet I'm motivating through some changes. I've done a group exercise class and survived, despite feeling oddly isolated as I side-kicked to the beat of my own drummer. I joined the PTA and potentially signed on to help in board member capacity for next year, despite having no clue what that will entail and despite always feeling that PTAs were designed for denim-smock wearing, turtle-necked religious right-ers.
I figure, despite the messy house and feeling of instability about the future that that seems metaphoric for, my life is going onward and forward, I may as well keep fit and healthy, and I might as well try to be a part of my kid's education in a meaningful way (though I suffer no delusions that my presence on a PTA board will impact curriculum or the general makeup of an institution that's been in existence far longer than I have.)
And as for the house, I'll eventually clean it, and I'll eventually finish The Book Project for the Hungarians, and I'll eventually get the laundry caught up. I'll go for a good long run with a friend, I'll get The Man's drycleaning. I'll bring The Kid to her gymnastics, I'll go visit Gretchen and friends at the Lark, I'll check out photos at the Helm, I'll pay short but sincere respects at Rampart, and I'll come home and get to sleep early to compensate for a lack of sleep on Council night.
But right now, I'll just sit in a moment of lunar influence, and wait for the fog to lift.

by AP on 2/23/2008 @ 12:32pm | Speaking of this recent "lunarcy", may I ask, RR, why the giant ad in the Volcano? Someone paying off a debt? Or is there a good reason for me to call the HFW hotline?
Page 8 of current Volcano, for those of you needing more info.... |

Or is there a good reason for me to call the HFW hotline![]() I saw the hotline number too. However, I figured calling it would be like opening that "gag gift" someone hands you like the jar with with the snake that spring outs. Perhaps you would get a recording of Robert Hill's public comment that RR Anderson had recorded and then put in a phone message. The possibilities are endless and daunting. The ad is sort of a gag on the whole city. www.flickr.com/photos/tacoma-urbanist/22... |
by AP on 2/23/2008 @ 3:18pm | My thoughts exactly. Good to know I'm not alone. |
by jcbetty on 2/23/2008 @ 4:28pm | I'm a'gonna guess... HFW had their crack legal team work out a dealio with the 'can-io to score mega ad space plus cash for TaComics. Dunno though. Call it Hunch + Supposition= ??? Paging Mr RR. |
