I promote the FEED on Friday and Saturdays...

Years ago i was displaced by domestic violence...i had no family and no where to turn from out of state ...i heard about the Friday and Saturday feed in tacoma...i started attending and found hope in life again...without this i would of gone hungry not knowing anyone and being in a strange town displaced.  I started attending a church that helped out and found a family to help me and my son.  Two years later i have a job ( been there for a year and a half now), a apartment and life is good again for us..I still attend just to help out and donate my time and unused items to them.  I remember i was there to and know how it is.  My son made from kids there and they talk alot at school. He to remembers the help they gave us and wants to return it.

Not only has it helped me but my best friend to, that i met there.

thank you everyone for your help.

I would hate to see it stop.  It has helped so many that i know

I would love to hear more about the Feed and what is happening with it right now. Could you tell us a little more about it?

Jenyum, here's Kathleen Merryman's column from today's Trib about the current issues with the Friday and Saturday night feeds.

Edit: whoops, misread the date, looks like the article's from early February. Even so, I don't know that any new major developments have happened since then.

And Scott Fontaine's blog from a couple days ago (for real this time).

I support the feed as well, I actually didnt know thats what was going on there, I would go by it thinking it was some sort of music event because there would be so many people. This is sad to hear about thanks for telling your side of the story

I learned about the feed shut down from these gentlemen at the citizen forum. If the feed can help them, I want the feed brought back.

Good idea RR. However, the feed appears to have some challenges left:

On Jan. 26, there was another, more serious fight."Security for the Feed reported a fight involving at least eight males which escalated to over 15 persons. Security also reported that at least two of the males had guns,”

I wonder how many of the 8 to 15 males who disrupted the feed were ex-cons?

(The jail foum is on March 20th at 1210 6th Avenue at 6:00 p.m.)
