RR Too Hot for PLD

Playing politics knows no bounds, even in every-social-circle-overlaps Tacoma. Candidate for City Council Position #2 Patricia Lecy-Davis no longer officially welcomes the endorsement of local political cartoonist, Frost Park chalk off creator*, and father RR Anderson. Via Facebook:

And here's a before and after of PLD's campaign website showing the change:

Can long-time Tacoma champion Patricia Lecy-Davis embrace the City of Neighborhoods-like ideal for this town if she can't let an artist like RR continue to reside on her "official" endorsements list? What do you think -- wise move or political cop-out?

I wouldn't vote for a candidate endorsed by me either.  Well played political consultant!

Did you do anything extra-special that got you banned? Be interested to hear if PLD's campaign has anything else to say. Or if that endorsements list gets further whittled down.

It wasn't me!  It was the New Takhoman!   I don't draw worms.  I draw crows!

for real, ask!

It's a good point made by nic. Too bad for PLD that she doesn't live in a different district. The NE Area & Stadium Bluff aren't voting for her regardless of endorsements.

stay on message, and for god sakes DO NOT talk about the epidemic of rape in the armed services.

I'd like to see city council races restricted to $5,000 or less as PDC categorized 'mini-campaigns' this would bring discussion in place of media.

by JesseHillFan on 5/28/2013 @ 11:28am
Robert Hill wouldn't do this to you.

let's just hope 'truetotacoma' and ilk don't see any of this

by truetotacoma on 5/28/2013 @ 2:24pm

woops....RR, I still like your work. I think this just shows that PLD is not who she says she is and has just kneeled to the political Gods. She has proved that she is willing to do anything to win like putting politics before friendships. She is an insider and a sell out. Good luck.

you never know, removing me might just be the edge she needs for victory!

I just have to quote successful local business woman and all around awesome Tacoman Jamie Chase. From Facebook:

"RRs brilliant political humor is one of the greatest assets in Tacoma. He is magnetic force drawing critical mainstream attention to issues that result in real change. He was central to the the peoples' David vs. Goliath victory against Clear Channel to prevent digital billboard Vegas Hell in Tacoma. If you mistake him for being against the mentally ill (or any other vulnerable population), you are sadly mistaken. He is the mentally ill. And thank goodness for it. It takes us crazies to make the insanity of our reality sane."

PLD's PR manager has got this all wrong. RR, Tacoma should thank you for so much of the energy and creativity you've given to it over the years. This is a great example of someone who doesn't know the first thing about you (and, hence, Tacoma) making decisions. I'd like to thank you because I personally don't do so enough.

RR, it sound like PLD and Slick Nic think you are too stupid to do your own research or know what is going on in the community to create your comics and blogs. They think they need to feed you info to be witty and take on the establishment. I hope that really pisses you off because it drives me nuts.

I just wish we had honest to god scandal like those poor bastards out in Pacific Washington

by NineInchNachos on 5/28/2013 @ 9:01pm
now they're just messing with me  :)

oh those cheeky guys!

by troysworktable on 5/28/2013 @ 9:53pm
RR, you can always move to Puyallup. We need a political cartoonist to shake things up here.

by NineInchNachos on 5/28/2013 @ 10:27pm
Zeiger country!

As the saying goes RR, you are just a squirrel trying to get a nut.
I copied this from the New Takoman blog site:
Interesting, according to the Public Disclosure Commissioner, PLD's consultant did work on 2/11/2013 while listing Tacoma as their business location but did not get a Tacoma business license until 2/25/2013. Why doesnt the TNT rip into these guys? Since Progressive strategies works out of a residence do they have a Home Occupation permit?

How about having RR Anderson as candidate for Tacoma City Council Position #2

Haha, very nice. Still a sad snub on PLD's campaign/image manager's part.

keep politics weird!

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
