A huge Green Festival is making its way to Seattle on March 28th & 29th. I didn't see Tacoma represented anywhere in the program book, but there's so much to see, there should be something for everyone. Best of all, my favorite chocolate maker in the world, Theo, will be there. (yum!)

|Lots of great speakers, but one, Lawrence Lessig, defintely caught my eye. He's pretty well known for being a huge proponent of "Free Culture"–reducing restrictions on copyrights, patents, etc.,–and one of the founders of the Creative Commons licensing scheme. More recently, he's created the Change Congress campaign, aiming to reduce the effect of money on politics through a variety of technical tools voters can use to hold their representatives accountable. But even if you're not interested in free software or political corruption, Lessig is worth checking out to see the "Lessig Method" in action–he's famous for his rapid-fire, minimalist slide presentations that punctuate his talking points. (See his TED talk for an example...) Unfortunately I have a conflict during his presentation block.|
Stuff on my brain.
