Why take pictures and post this? I agree that public sex is gross, but aren't you just as gross?

by tacomawatcher on 7/14/2008 @ 9:11pm
Just doing my part to publicize the criminals I have to see every day.

Wow. Filtering capabilities can't get here soon enough.

Reality isn't pretty.

Is having sex a criminal act now? Somehow I did not get the notice on that one.

Let me know when common sense visits humanity again, don't want to miss it.

Tacoma could use a good crime watching blog.

Especially one that does not simply the latest crime that is in the msm but has raw footage of nuisance behavior that the rest of the city is ignoring.

There has been a couple of video documenters of "alleged" criminal activity in Tacoma but they have never blogged about it:

As long as the pictures and video are taken of activities in public view, they are perfectly legal.

There was also someone taking some great crime videos on activity on Tacoma Avenue but they were taken down.

ixia, Sex in public is against the law.

thx Erik, I'll do what I can but can't promise anything great.

Ps. If fellow crime stoppers would like to contribute to the tacoma watch blog they can contact me @ tacomawatch@yahoo.com

It might be perfectly legal to film activities in public. Filming others having sex does not make me safer. It just creeps me out.
Got too much time on your hand? Feeling bored? Why not volunteer for a homeless shelter or at the humane society? Plenty of opportunities all around to make better use of your time........

Because of the amount of criminal activity in my neighborhood I keep my camera nearby whenever I work in my yard or make dinner in my kitchen. I've recently decided to start blogging what I have to regularly put up with. I hope whatever attention I can bring to crime in Tacoma helps get it cleaned up. The police already know me on a first name basis, maybe this will give them added motivation, evidence or leads.

If you would like to live in your naive little Tacoma world where the only things that matter are arts, food coops and the latest condo news that's fine. Just quit judging someone who's trying their best to make this city a bit more crime free with the limited time and means they have. I just want to make Tacoma safer.

btw, Reality isn't pretty.

given all the car commercial talk lately I think this is actually a viral marketing campaign for Subaru.

Nice try tacomawatcher

lol. You caught me, I'm actually a Subaru salesperson.

3/4s of all Americans have had sex in a car. Some words of advice, mind the stick shift.

Film away.

Let the chips fall where they may.

No doubt people will have different interpretations of the behavior. The best pictures are ones which require little commentary.

Ultimately, they are committing the acts in the area because they have identified it as an anything goes zone without repercussions.

The filming of crime in Tacoma over the last couple of years has gained some media and police attention.

In fact, one even culminated into a Tacomic:

Just curious, did you turn in the license plate to the police? The Vice unit will send a letter to the cars owner.

by tacomawatcher on 7/15/2008 @ 7:24am
I always notify the police.

Tacomawatcher, have you confronted any of the participants of these public sex acts while it's occurring to stop it in its tracks? Do you let them know firsthand how you feel about it and ask them to move elsewhere or get a room?

by izenmania on 7/15/2008 @ 11:01am
Watch out, though, if you confront the wrong couple at the wrong time, well... they might throw poop at you...

by NineInchNachos on 7/15/2008 @ 11:03am
slave is right yelling and garden hose put the breaks on run away romance. Less creepy than sneaking around bushes taking pictures.

I say carry around an air horn. That'll break the mood.
